Artists Portfolio Mosaics 

Nina Tisara majored in sculpture at the High School of Music and Art in New York City and studied painting at the Brooklyn Museum Art School.  Many years later she took a photography class at Northern Virginia Community College. A fellow student told her about a possible job opening at a local newspaper. The resulting part-time freelance job was the start of a 30+ year career as a portrait and event photographer.

Tisara incorporated Tisara Photography in 1985 while working out of the basement of her home. She opened her photography studio in the newly developing King Street Metro area of Alexandria in 1990. Two of her children joined her in the business endeavor.

Tisara now creates mosaic art and her son Steven Halperson runs the studio.
